Moving Tender Chocks on Princess Yachts 50

In early October we were contacted by a Princess Yachts 50 owner frustrated that the position of his tender on the bathing platform prevented easy access across the boat. The initial request was to move the position of his chock plates so that his tender sat a further five inches aft, allowing easy athwartships access across the bathing platform. To make good, new teak planking would then be required to cover the old chock plate positions.

At Landau we make an assessment of any proposed task prior to commencing work and look for the best solution in collaboration with the customer. In this case rather than remove the existing chock plates, resighting further aft and modifying a brand new teak deck we designed a pair of offset top plates that attached to the existing lower plates via a keyway solution. The new offset chock plates in highly polished 316 stainless steel were designed, fabricated and fitted within three weeks.
