In 2023 we have seen a notable increase in the amount of Defence & Commercial work coming in to Landau. With this in mind we’re pleased to announce that Matt Pearson joined the team on September 1^st as “Commercial & Small Boats Manager”.

In this newly created role Matt will be working closely with Operations Manager Karl Arnott and our engineering team to ensure that each vessel that arrives with us is dealt with as efficiently as possible, minimising down time and cost to the end user. After initially spending six years “on the tools” Matt has been working aboard RN vessels for the last five years providing surveys and data base registers for flexible hosing. In this role a methodical approach and attention to detail were paramount and with these qualities we’re confident that Matt will be a great addition to the Landau team. Matt has hit the ground running and is already working with our engineers as they carry out two year planned maintenance on a pair of Combat Support Boats at our Swanwick facility.

Whilst only 11 years into his career, Matt has dedicated his time to learning and understanding both the commercial and leisure side of the marine industry. He initially spent 6 years “on the tools” with various companies within the leisure sector culminating in 3 years working and sailing in Greece. For the next 5 years, he worked onboard RN vessels & oil rigs providing surveys and database registers for their flexible hoses. This provided Matt with a real insight into the commercial side of Marine and he’s enthused to now grow that knowledge at Landau as he gets involved in many of our commercial and defence projects.

Matt describes himself as a “proactive person with a strong belief that there is always something to learn from everyone”. In his spare time he’s often seen repairing cars family and friends or doing DIY on his house. If the sun is shining he likes to get afloat on the River Hamble, either paddle boarding or on the family’s 26’ Wellcraft.
