At landau we are allways looking into new ways of enhancing our customers onboard entertainment systems. Our most recent installation involved a satalite TV system with additional TVs in cabins, and as shown in the picture to the right, a 17″ cockpit TV.  This has a fully waterproof facia which is ideal for an open cockpit boat.  It is linked to the SKY system onboard which is operational from the cockpit.  If you are interested in Marine Entertainment solutions onboard your boat, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Landau uk Ltd are amongst the first to train its engineers and qualify as “NMEA MARINE ELECTRONICS INSTALLERS”

Landau UKs engineers Martin Janning and Chris Orchard sat the NMEA Marine Electronics Installer course and passed with flying colours.

Princess Motor Yacht Sales May Bank Holiday Open Weekend proved to be a terrific success.  Princess had a wide range of boats available for viewing including the beautiful new Princess V85 which rather stole the show. 

Many new and existing customers took advantage of the opportunity to view the boats at leisure whilst enjoying Princess’s super hospitality.  Princess Service was available to answer any questions and received strong interest on their range of services, specifically the KVH Satellite systems.

Princess Motor Yachts sister company Rybrook Cars, a franchised Premium Motor Vehicle Sales Group also attended the event tempting customers with a display of exclusive luxury cars to include the all new BMW Z4 Roadster, the new Jaguar XK Convertible and a Mercedes S320 CDI.

On the other end of the scale Princess Service had their Rally Raid Dakar vehicle on display which proved to be of interest to all with many customers posing for pictures!

With the every increasing amount of navigational aids available to the consumer comes the problem of where to mount it all?

We were approached by one of our customers to design a mast specific to his boat and the equipment needed and since then have gone from strength to strength with shape and size so far no challenge has been too great!

Recently we were commissioned to design a mast to be fitted to a Fleming Motor Yacht to support both forward and aft facing cameras, two GPS antennas, wind anemometer, SeaMe Radar Reflector, KVH M7, Raymarine 4kw open array and all navigational lights.  Once the owner has agreed the drawing the mast is constructed from marine aluminium/stainless steel/GRP composites, powder coated to match the boat and then positioned on the boat, our aim is to supply a mast that looks as if it was added to the boat during manufacture.

Dear All, Ben Metcalfe of Landau uk and Paul Round of Rally Raid finished the Dakar in 61st position out of 91 finishers!

After 2 hard weeks of racing including a broken prop shaft, diff, and a couple of clutches Ben and Paul have finished the Dakar.  After a couple of hours sleep per night the guys are due a well earned rest.  All the way through they have remained optimistic and having a great time in a truly amazing country as the pictures below illustrate.

Landau UK would like to thank everyone who emailed in with words of support and encouragment for the team.  What a fantastic experience and an amazing race!!!

I hope to have a report from Ben soon when he returns, about the race with the highs and lows of this incredible event.

Landau have just started their winter Powerboat maintenance programs.  Our first project of the winter was this Princess V53.  We sanded the hull, applied antifoul primer where required and then painted on 2 coats of Blakes antifoul.  The stern gear was cleaned up using a wire brush then smoothed over with brillo pads and finally 2000 grit sand paper to give a shiny satin finish.  We find this procedure works well and are very pleased with the finished product.
