Richard Haycock delighted winner of the competition prize donated jointly by Landau UK and ICOM
receiving his ICOM IC-M23 from Landau UK’s Marketing Manager Robin against the backdrop of Mr Haycock’s elegant 60′ Laurent Giles Sloop.

The event, organised by Swanwick Premier Marina and the RNLI, covered a whole raft of sea safety elements over the three days including; basic navigation, survival at sea, personal buoyancy, use of flares and life rafts, important boat checks, judging the elements and collision regulations.

Landau UK exhibited at both the Swanwick Sea Safety Weekend and Easter Boat Show with exclusive offers on all Icom VHF/DSC/HF/SSB and AIS equipment including their latest smallest, lightest, strobing, floating handheld VHF the IC-M23 won by Mr Haycock.
We also exhibited and had great offers on KVH Satelite equpment and the whole Garmin range including the new Garmin AIS600.
RNLI Lifeboats rescued the highest number of people in the RNLI’s history in 2010 rescuing an average of 22 people a day, of which nearly three quarters of those were from pleasure craft. 3,539 people were rescued from power boats and 1,971 from sailing boats. Over a third of these rescues were in darkness.
As you prepare for this season it is so important to ensure your boat’s safety equipment is sufficient and up to date, and all your boat’s systems have been checked, serviced, and overhauled or replaced where necessary.

Landau UK can provide a 32 point Safety Appraisal for only £35.00 which looks carefully at your Boat’s Safety Equipment (including liferafts, epirbs, fire extinguishers and buoyancy aids) and Boat Systems (including navigation lights, critical alarms, bilge pumps & float switches, and sea cocks).
If you do need to add to, upgrade, service or repair your equipment we will deduct your Safety Appraisal fee from the invoice. We can even MCA Code your boat for charter this season.
